I am a person of color, and we too were once mistreated, because of the color of our skin. A well bred dog with health & confirmation, is well bred no matter what color he or she is...
A better question is Why Not Pie?
Pie has been in the breed sense the 1800's, for what reason would someone ask us to discount all our wonderful dogs at this point.
What is the agenda really?

I bought my dachshund Bella from the best breeder in Idaho, thank you...Idaho Dachshunds!!! Her mother Harlee is a BEAUTIFUL PIE!!! Jonathan Swift said "Vision is the art of seeing things invisible." Can't the AKC see what's looking them right in the face?!?!? A life without PIE, is like cake without frosting....YUCKY!! & WRONG!!! Variety, that's what makes this breed perfect in the eyes of those that love them so much!!! Save the Piebalds!!!

I believe we need to keep the piebald pattern for Dachshunds because what would call them if not Piebald. I have 3 Piebalds, 2 reds. Here's their pictures.

I do not own a pie YET, but I am looking, I think they are beautiful and have as much right to be recognized as all the other doxies. AKC is even recognizing, in my opinion "mixed" breeds now, what would the pie hurt???

What????
They won't accept us????
Why???
Maybe they shouldn't be called human!!!!

We all vote to include piebald as a pattern! Dallas, Panda, & Rags

And I second their vote! Piebald is a beautiful pattern and should be
a part of Dachshund Standard, period. I can't believe that after all
these years and wonderful champion dogs behind my lines, I am told that
my piebalds are no longer acceptable.
We can, if we all join together, make our voices heard.
Spread the word!!!!

There is no reason that piebalds should not be considered a standard if they are a gene regularly found in the breed. They are as healthy as any other dachshunds and, in my opinion, their pattern is the most beautiful.

I am against this craziness to eliminate piebalds, they are the most unique of all the doxies, they have to stay.

You can sign up Triniti Kennels as supporters on behalf of 'saving' the piebald dachshunds. Although I/we am/are not particular fan[s] of the piebalds, I/we will stand up for your right to have them, and to have them recognized.
UNLIKE the double dapple which often results in a defective offspring, I can not see any reason to 'ban' them anymore than they have failed to ban the brindles, or the creams, or a myriad of other color combinations.

I think the Piebald's should be saved. I don't own a Piebald but do own a chocolate and I think that all colors should be safe. Plus, are they cute or what?

The piebald pattern is just that, a pattern. Somebody must be threaten with the piebalds,,,, they are very beautiful dog. All patterns, hair coats and colors should be included in the standard. We cannot allow this to happen.

I vote to save the Piebald. I bought my Piebald purely because I thought he
was unique looking. He is every bit a Dachshund as my daughters Red Dachshund
& her Black & Tan are. I don't see how coloring can make a dog something he
is not, he is a beautiful Dachshund.

The piebalds are beautiful. If their structure is sound, there is no reason not to allow them to compete. Unless, of course, someone is afraid the pies will be big winners because they are so lovely!!!

I own 1 Dachshund – a red, smooth female, but would love to own a piebald someday. It would be a shame to do away with this beautiful pattern!!

Piebalds are very cute and unusual.
They are as much a part of the breed as any other color.

These dogs are beautiful and have every right to be recognized after all they are the original dachshund. I have two beautiful girls and wouldn't trade them for the world. Showing is suppose to be about showing the best of the breed according to breed standards. I don't remember standards having to do with color.
Let's not get color blind.

Of course, I will sign the petition to stop discriminating against piebalds! The Dachshund Club of America (DCA) and the AKC treat the piebald coat pattern as a fault in the ring, yet they accept double dappling!
They should take into consideration the health and conformation of the breed! I love my piebald, Zero! He is a beautiful example of the breed standard and his coat pattern in no way affects his ability to do the job he was bred for!

Please keep the Piebalds on the AKC list. They are just as much standard dachshunds as any other color combination. We are proud owners of two different colored dachshunds. Sam is my Black & Tan, and Hurley is my long hair red. Hurley's Mom was a piebald.  They are great dogs!

I've bred Dachshunds for about 10 years now. Removing the piebald from the patterns of the standard would be an injustice. Next they will be removing all colors except red and blk/tan. There is nothing unethical about this pattern. They allow dapple to dapple breeding resulting in double dapple that carry the blind and deaf gene. Piebald does not hurt the breed in anyway.

I just recently purchased a doxie from tolemac farms. He is my first dachshund. I am in favor of saving the piebald doxie, they too are a beautiful dachshund and should not be disregarded as anything but. thank you!

There are two members of NMDC at this household.
Both of us want to save the piebald, and have piebalds.
If the standard people don't like them, let them help us towards separation, and keep their purist colours in their own separate Breed!!!!!

All dachshunds are worthy and fabulous creations. We should not discriminate based on color, regardless of species.
