There is no reason to discriminate. Piebalds rock! Just look at Lucy! Breeders shall continue to produce them and people will continue to buy them since they are the cutest Dachshunds alive so why not keep them in the "club" and encourage good standards and breeding. Love live the Piebalds!

My Doxie is a pet and not a show dog; however that does not change the fact that she is a Piebald Dachshund. She reflects every trait, structure, personality and attitude that is associated with Doxies and her (their) color should not be a negative mark. If anything it should gain extra points just on looks or patterns, I know it is not a “beauty” contest but if “coats/color/markings” are given points this one should be noticed too. If you look close, Maggie has the “Batman” sign in white on her back. I can only say that to exclude them would be to a loss to the “show”. We love our Maggie and her funny love for chasing “Aliens” (shadows)

Hmm, I'm adopting a piebald now, never heard of this, just getting to know the breed. I wonder if this is why he was not wanted anymore?
He'll be well loved here regardless of color!

I own a beautiful 5 month old piebald boy and it’s just plain ridiculous that he should not count in the breed standards, I absolutely adore him and he is the most amazing dog I have ever known. My puppys name is Inu. Piebald Dachshunds should definitely be included in the breed standard!!!

Living in a racial mixed town we have a lot of different races and colors of people there is NO reason to discriminate against these beautiful dogs just because of there spots, God created all living things made them the color that pleased him. DO WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO SAY THEY DON'T BELONG. I think not.

How could anyone not love a pie. They are so uniquely different. I have a 2 long coat pies and 1 smooth pie. They are just so precious, so loving I can't imagine life without the pies. They deserve the same registration as the rest of the dachshund family. How unfair would that be to eliminate them. Please let's keep the dachshund family together. United we'll stand for the piebald dachshund. Today tomorrow and forever.
The pictures are my three pies. The biggest is Elvis my long coat chocolate & tan pie, Lottie Dotty my smooth coat isabella pie and Presley my chocolate and tan pie long coat

I am new to this wonderful breed of family pets. I have just started a partnership with my best friend April Doss of Alabama Doxies. This is a wonderful color and needs the same respect as the others. This is the color that shakes up the rest of them. Please help us save the Piebalds.

We are researching breeders and learning about dachshund care because we plan on purchasing one soon. After looking at different colors, pattern, and sizes. My family and I decided that the piebald dachshunds are the most attractive. Save the piebalds!!! We will still purchase one soon.

I am totally behind you in getting the shows to except the piebald in their shows. It should not be so limited. Times change, and so should their thought process. They are as beautiful, if not more colorful, than the standard colors. I presently have three of them. I fell in love with them, as they do carry a special look with each one. Like a snowflake, no two are alike.

Piebalds should be allowed to compete just as much as dappled or brindle dachshunds. If the gene is available and safe, it should be allowed to be expressed. Piebalds won't be eliminated by breeding solids to pies. It's a recessive gene so it will show up again. Does the AKC expect us to throw those puppies out? If the piebald's body conforms to the standard that should matter, not what it's pattern is, especially if there aren't genetic disorders associated with the piebald pattern.

I am from Georgia and I LOVE MY PIEBALD! How could you not love this face? These are Cooper's two favorite past times, sitting on Mom's lap and playing with his ball! Thanks for saving the Piebald!

I see no reason why the piebald pattern should be eliminated from the dachshund standard, since its pattern has been seen in the breed for decades. It is not something that just popped up out of no-where! It is the result of a carried gene that has resulted from purebred dachshunds....not something that breeders have brought in without side breeds. I love the pattern and hope it will always be around. It will be in my kennel!!

I am a proud owner of 3 Piebald Dachshunds, and a lot of my other Dachshunds carry for piebald. They are very beautiful dogs. I think that the Piebalds should be able to be shown because they are such beautiful dogs.

I believe that piebalds are just as much dachshunds as the traditional solids. I have two piebalds and am getting another soon. They bring me so much joy. No one piebald is marked alike! Each has its own unique & special markings. My personal favorites are the ones with more white on their bodies. I believe piebalds can and do have the ability to perform as they were bred to--to hunt! Their color & pattern does not dictate how they perform! Please, please keep piebalds in the AKC registry & show ring. Thank You.

This is a picture of Duchwood's Pi A La Mode - currently 4.5 months old
and showing off his beautiful pie pattern and his sweet face. How can
anyone deny that he is a great example of a miniature dachshund - his
coloring enhances not detracts from his appearance! Wherever we go,
people comment on how striking he looks - few people I have run into
have seen a piebald dachshund. Regardless, the history of the piebald
pattern cannot be denied, and therefore the the dogs should not be
denied access to the show ring.
