I love the piebald pattern and don't understand why they don't believe it should be in the standards for Dachshunds. What's the difference between the patterns piebald, dapple, brindle they are just a pattern what makes piebald less important. Thanks, Julie

My friend has a piebald and it is the cutest doxi that I have ever seen. Dachshunds have had white on them from the beginning of the breed and have been winning in conformation. Why ban then now?

I am visiting my sister-in-law in Texas and was just introduced to her piebald. What a beautiful dog! From what I understand, the DCA voted to ban them from the show ring. Other than stating that the membership voted to do so, has anyone heard of an explanation of "why"? Makes no sense to me.

We really think that piebalds shouldn't be disqualified. We have a wonderful piebald dachshund that brings so much joy into our lives! We think its better to have a variety of dachshund colors.. it makes the judging so much more interesting!

This is our precious piebald dachshund, Buddy. Buddy is five months old and is every bit a true dachshund. He acts like a dachshund, he walks like a dachshund, he looks like a dachshund, he talks back to us like a dachshund, he is a dachshund! Buddy would not be in our home if he was not a dachshund. Buddy is too smart to be any other breed.

Disqualifying the Piebald would eliminate very beautiful dogs. The pattern doesn't change the health etc of the dog. Why eliminate a pattern that has been a part of the Dachshund history for so long?

I think Piebald dachshunds are beautiful. I do not own one yet. But I plan to. I don't see why a pattern that is natural should be disqualified. It has no effect on the dogs health or ability to perform.

I can not figure out why anyone would not want to include the Piebald coloring in the Dachshund standard. I own a Piebald, and I believe she is beautiful. I understand that there are problems with the double dapple gene, and I do not believe that these should be bred, however, Piebalds are a beautiful addition to the Dachshund standard and there is not reason that they should not be supported. It's terrible that any one would have a problem with them. Please include them!!!! Here is my little girl Sahalie! Isn't she great!

I support this petition because I support my friends who own beautiful
Piebalds! Don't discriminate because of color. Patterns are unique,
which makes a unique Dachsund!

Piebald picture: Which is your favorite adorable Dylan shot?!
Why the piebald should be saved:
I had never heard of a pie before I met Dylan…he is absolutely wonderful and no different than the other doxies I had growing up (red, smooth). I couldn’t imagine someone saying they don’t think he lives up to the doxie name because of his fur…believe me, I have seen him eat and he totally lives up to the doxie name (and then some!!)
Save the Pies…eat a cake!!!

This is my baby Cocoa, and this is her with her brothers and sisters. They are very smart and very loving little pups. Their mum is a piebald dachshund. They are very smart and very beautiful, and make the best pets. I just don't understand why you would want to eliminate the piebald their precious.

We have a red and white piebald dachshund. Her name is Little Bit and we love her so much. We can't imagine a piebald not being a part of the dachshund breed. The color has nothing to do with their performance or anything else for that matter. We had a red dachshund before we got Little Bit. I loved my red dachshund, but I prefer the piebald pattern. Little Bit has a great personality and is so friendly. She is smart, and she is beautiful. We defintely believe that the Piebald Dachshund should remain active in shows and the piebald pattern should stay! We SUPPORT THE PIEBALDS!

I own 3 miniature Dachshund's - 1 of them is a Black and Tan Piebald by the name of Scarlett who's personality is different than my tiny red one and my black and tan long haired rescue named Max. They're Dachshund's, why shouldn't the be recognized in the Dachshund standard like all of the others are? Please save the Piebald's!! All of the different color combinations are so beautiful, and in my opinion, better than a solid color. I wouldn't trade my Piebald, Scarlett, for anything. I've included a picture of my 'baby Piebald Dachsie, Scarlett. She's almost 3 years old.

I do not own one of these little beauties, but my friend, Lynne Wells, is the proud mama of Scarlett, one of the most gorgeous young ladies you could hope to see in your lifetime. Scarlett is loving and sweet and just as deserving as her sister Sadie and brother Max of the proper recognition by the various organizations. I look forward to seeing Piebalds in the upcoming dog shows.
