This is Dachsher, my first Miniature Dachshund.
Although he is a pet and not for show, he is beautiful, loyal, intelligent and such a blessing to own - and he is all of those things even though he is piebald.
We cannot discriminate color as humans, why should we do it with dogs?

We are the proud owner of 2 piebald dachshunds. They are every bit dachshunds and the solid colored ones, and should be included regardless of their color.
Thank you

I love my Piebald Soft-coated Wired haired Dachshund, CocoPuff, now over 2 years old. I hope breeders will continue to create these wonderful animals. I hope these pictures convey how gorgeous she is to look at (and so soft to pet).

I am the proud owner of what is sure to be the sweetest, cutest doxie in a long time. He just recently attended a Doxie Festival in Miami Beach where hundreds of dachshunds come every year and he was the most different of all. Everyone had something to say about him. They are unique and their coloring is like no other. Please save the Piebalds. They are special indeed.

There is nothing in the show ring or anywhere else that the solid reds, black and tans, etc can do that the piebald can not. i don't understand why this has suddenly become a big deal. The piebald pattern is beautiful and most piebalds are bright eyed and healthy, perhaps healthier than the reds, black and tans, etc. My beautiful boy is a solid black piebald, though I have it covered in the pic, he is wearing a full tuxedo. He is now 17 years old, has turned nearly white all over, and still plays. Other than rotten teeth he has no health problems. He is beginning to go blind. He is a standard size dachshund.
Brenda Pass, loving owner to a beautiful piebald boy

Piebald dachshunds are absolutely gorgeous! I have one pie male and a female that carries for it. I am planning on building a strong piebald line. There is so reason they should be excluded from AKC conformation events as this pattern does not affect health at all. Give these guys the recognition they deserve.

I have owned dachshunds since I was a child and in 2001 I adopted my first piebald. She is the most beautiful and precious dachshund I have ever owned. They deserve to be treated and accepted like all other dachshunds. I’ve included a picture of Kiara who turns 9 on May 5th.

Ohhh please save the piebalds !!!!
We have one Black Dapple/Brindle/Pie and One Soft Wire shaded cream and now a new liter with the most gorgeous Black Piebald I've ever seen! I can't imagine everyone not getting a chance to see this little beauty.... because of his color. Wow, such a sad thought ! I truly hope this is reconsidered, because the beauty of a Piebald should be enjoyed by all... they are our treasures !

I just bought a Piebald and the breeder was offering AKC papers.
They are the cutest little things and should be registered.

I had never owned a Doxie before and had never heard of piebald before I adopted Charlie. Charlie was the last of a litter and needed a home. When I saw him, I fell in love and now I'm the proud owner of a Long Haired, Piebald Doxie. He is absolutely the most adorable, smart and animated little guy you 'll ever meet. I've attached a photo of Charlie who is now almost 5 mos. old. I don't understand why Piebalds are given a bad name and why they may become extinct??? Save the Piebalds for sure!!!
The proud Momma of Charlie

The individual coat pattern is eye catching, making a piebald unique. I LOVE the Piebald and am very much interested in owning one in the near future. I currently have a dark chocolate brown/black toy miniature doxie. GREAT companions!!

I want the Piebald should be saved because they are a beautiful part of the breed. I've always dreamed of owning one and have saved to get one.
It would be a shame to see the Piebald disappear.

We have a Piebald Dachshund and we adore him.
No question he is a dachshund through and through.
People on the street stop us to rave about his beautiful markings.
Please save the Piebald!

My parents have a piebald and I love him so much!
I have three doxies of my own, and a litter of 5 pups :)
I think they should be saved because they are so beautiful!
I love the breed all together but not a lot of people know what a Piebald is..
We need to save them so we can continue to educate people about them and all the different colorings of the dachshund breed :)

The piebald is, in my opinion, the most striking color pattern ever. It is clean clear and allows the eyes to visually see the conformation the dog has to offer.

This is Luke, our adorable male piebald. We love our piebald. He is
just as sweet as our other 4 dachshunds. We see nothing wrong
with this color and feel that they should not be discriminated
against in the show ring or elsewhere based on their markings.
STOP the injustice done toward these beautiful dogs!

I am just beginning to breed miniature dachshunds as I think they are amazing little dogs. I have a chocolate and tan piebald and a red dapple who carries piebald. They both have amazing temperaments and have been checked by two different vets from different practices for soundness. They meet all breed standard requirements except for the amount of white they have on their coats. I am very discouraged by the views against the piebald pattern. In all the research I have done I can not find any genetic defects associated with the piebald pattern. I cannot understand why organizations who are supposed to support proper breeding for form and function are discriminating against a color.
