The Piebald pattern has been around since the development of the Dachshund! How can they say one of the original patterns isn't valid anymore?

I have owned a black and tan long hair (he passed away at the age of 14) and currently own a black and tan smooth. I have an elderly cat who just couldn't take another dog-when she has crossed over the rainbow bridge, I fully intend to purchase a piebald as my next doxie.

Piebalds are so cute!
I am a long time Golden owner,
but I may have to join your ranks,
as I met a couple of adorable youngsters at my husband’s vet clinic
a few days ago in Douglasville, GA.

Piebalds should be recognized as part of the standard
because THEY ARE!
If they are purebred dachshunds and they fit the description,
THAT IS THE STANDARD! :)

How could anyone resist or exclude this gorgeous, impish piebald?
His name is Mushu and he is without a doubt one of the
best things that has ever happened to us.
People constantly stop us on our walks.
Please save the piebalds!

I’d like to sign your piebald petition also. I do not own a piebald, but find them gorgeous and would like to add one to my dachshund family.
In my opinion, piebalds are the most unique pattern.
I think it is wonderful to have the diversity of colors in this pattern,
and I personally don’t see what color has to do with show
(especially after it has been around for so long).

Please save the piebald.

The Dachshund is a Hound, and what other Hound breed disallows the piebald markings. None! Piebalds are beautiful.

I have never pictured myself as the owner of a Doxie, until I saw my little Dixie wagging her tail begging me to buy her. She is the cutest little piebald I have ever seen, and she is AKC registered so why cant she be in any of the events?
I don’t think that makes any sense at all.
She is a purebred, and deserves to be treated like one!!

Piebalds should be included in the standard.
They are no less of a Dachshund because of their coloring.

I couldn't believe that piebalds are not considered standard,
they are beautiful! I will buy or adopt one just because of that.
I have a red doxie, but I love all colors and patterns!

I am the proud human of a cream mini piebald & couldn't be happier.
He is the light of my life, not because he happens to have a "different" color
or pattern, but because he is a dachshund.
They come in all shapes, sizes, and colors just like people do.
I couldn't love him any more
and love watching him grow into a handsome little man!

I have been a dog lover and owner my entire life. My precious dog recently passed away and I have been searching for my new best friend. After much research, I have discovered the most handsome and wonderful breed, the piebald dachshund. This will be my first dachshund and I have narrowed the search to an elegant, adorable, gorgeous piebald baby girl dachshund. I was appalled to see that this most beautiful pattern would be denied to be recognized and admired in the world of showing. Best Wishes in your endeavor to enlighten those who judge.

I have a 6 month old smooth haired mini dachshund piebald. His name is Kenobi and he is absolutely precious! He was the last puppy available when we got him, and the only one with white on him. Even if I would have seen all of the others, I still would have picked him. I love his white markings. We receive so many compliments on his coloring, he gets a lot of attention. We've had people ask us if we are going to breed him because they love his markings. He's getting a lot of spots on his chest too, which is adorable. We've already had him fixed, because we have no intention of breeding. But we LOVE this very unique dog!!! He's beautiful!!!

To not allow Piebalds to show would be a loss to the AKC, the people who participate and those who watch the events. Piebalds are born of the same lines of other Dachshunds that are allowed to show, why should one or two dogs of a litter be considered non-showable when they carry the same bloodline. Their color in no way affects their physical or mental make-up. And being the owner of an absolutely adorable Piebald, Piebalds are often some of the most beautiful species of the breed! What an insult and a HUGE injustice they are doing.
