I can't understand why anyone would want to do away with this pattern. It is just one more exemplary example of the diversity of these wonderful brave, big hearted dogs. Dachshunds can be both beautiful and maintain the breed standard. Will the next step be taking away, dapples, sables, brindles all the unique patterns that make the dachshund look as majestic as their temperament shows?

The Piebalds are a beautiful part of our Dachshund package.
Please allow them to stay included. SAVE THE PIEBALD!

Dogs are like humans we are all equal. Whether it is pies, brindles, dapples & solid colored dogs, the beauty is in side the dog as well as the out side. The pies should not be picked on they are beautiful & should be judged as so GO PIES

I see nothing wrong with the color of a person or dog’s skin. Greta our chocolate and tan dachshund is waiting for her sister, Bella, a black and tan piebald. The thing I love about the dachshund breed, other than they are the most lovable and adorable dogs around, is all the color combinations. Where else do you get that choice? Even though I do not show my dogs, I see no reason why color should affect their showmanship. Onward and upward with the Piebalds!

I don't own a Piebald yet, but they are beautiful dogs, and should be allowed. Color has nothing to do with conformation, temperament or the ability of the dog to do it's job. It would be a shame for the AKC to disallow a Piebald, just because of color. In fact, it's a shame they disallow any dog because of it's color. Keep the Piebalds!!!! I own a beautiful Chocolate Shaded English Cream that is gorgeous, excellent conformation & has a perfect temperament, but he has a chocolate nose, therefore could not earn enough points to get his championship! Ridiculous!!

Isn't it called confirmation? Maybe it should be changed to What's my color. Pies have played a large part in dachshund history. The DCA & AKC should go back and look at some of the beautiful pies who've won.
I own no pies but I do have pie carriers. I'm hoping for cream pies in Nov.

I don't own a piebald, but I think all colors should be included. Its not their colors it should be the quality of the dog that counts.

I definitely vote YES to save the piebalds! The pies are my favorites :) Who would want to eliminate this beautiful pattern?? We are the proud parents of several piebald kiddos. I always see Dachshund gifts/collectables available in reds and blk/tans. I think it's time the pies (and other patterns) get the recognition they equally deserve.

I've had Dachshunds since the '70's and love all the colors they come in. Discriminating against Piebalds is plain NUTS! Right now I have this little guy "Romey" and he will get his "California Girl" in November, she is the pup on the left, a Red Dapple. If they get rid of Pie's what's next??

I think it is ridiculous to do away with a previously accepted pattern. There are many beautiful pies out there, they are dachshunds too.

How could you not love the beautiful pattern of the Piebald?? They are no different than any other Doxi. I own two and love the coloring of the Piebald. I think the show ring would be a lot more fun to watch with the beautiful Pie's in the ring. There is nothing wrong with the form and function of the Pie's they are no different. They SHOULD NOT be excluded.

There is nothing wrong health wise with breeding the piebalds! They should not be discriminated against because of their pattern. If anything needs to be banned, it's dapple to dapple breeding. This causes major health issues. Many of us breeders are striving to make show quality piebalds and bring the quality back to them. There is absolutely no reason they should be dismissed and I will continue to breed the piebalds even if they are!

Piebalds are one of my favorite patterns. There's no reason in the world why they shouldn't be shown like any other color.
They are purebred Dachshunds just like any other pattern.

WE just LOVE the Piebald Pattern! I can't imagine our breeding program
without these spotted beauties! Everyone loves the variety of patterns and colors of the Dachshund Breed. Many of our customers enjoy having a choice, as do we! The pattern should have nothing to do with the breed standard for the show ring or otherwise. As breeders we represent the Dachshund Breed by breeding all colors, patterns, and coats.
Doing this without the Piebald Pattern is an injustice!
~ On behalf of "The Teenie Weenie Weinery" and the many Dachshunds here....WE VOTE SAVE THE PIEBALDS!

I really love piebalds.
If I had to choose one color or pattern it would definitely be piebald.

I have eight piebalds and many that carry the piebald gene! Piebald is my absolute favorite pattern in the Dachshund breed. I enjoy educating people regarding the piebald pattern! I love them in smooth, long and wire coats. Any color, so long as it is a piebald is super in my book! ;o) I think that to discriminate against the piebald now is a little late, don't you? They are in so many breeders breeding programs, they are winning in the show ring and they are warming peoples hearts across the world!

I am the proud owner of several piebald dachshunds and plan to continue to be a proud owner. They are very beautiful dogs and many pet owners prefer the piebald dachshund. They are dachshunds no matter what their color and should not be treated with discrimination because of their color or pattern.
