How can one resist the cute sweet eyes of a dachshund? And that is any dachshund for that matter. Dachshunds, regardless of their coat colors are extraordinary dogs, and all should be dachshund standards. This definitely includes the piebald dachshunds that not only bring an immense amount of beauty to the dachshund breed, but an incredible amount of originality in their unique colors and patterns. May the piebalds prosper!!!
Please include my e-mail on the Save the Piebalds Petition. Thanks so much!

I don’t personally own a Piebald, I have 3 doxies black and tan and red. This is the first time I’ve ever seen one, but I think they are gorgeous. I think they definitely need to be acknowledged by AKC.

I can't understand why you would ban the piebalds, unless you take the other patterns, like dapples, brindles etc., out also. I own a beautiful black and tan piebald. I own six dachshund in all. I think they allow the piebalds to be in.

So far, in all have read, I have not come across one good reason why piebalds should not still be considered standard.

There is certainly not need to discriminate against this adorable and beautiful animal. They have the same right to be shown as many other breeds that are commonly accepted.

I don't have a piebald. I have a mini red shorthair girl and a mini (bull in a china shop) longhair red boy.
All dachshunds are beautiful and should be accepted into competition!!!

Since our son grew up among piebald Basset Hounds, when looking for a dog for himself and his son, he fell in love with a piebald Dachshund. We think he's pretty neat, too. When Cocker Spaniels can have black and ASCOB classes, and Great Danes are allowed any variety of coats, and piebald Bassets are welcome... in fact, just about impossible to find any Bassets that aren't piebald, then banning this particular conformance in Dachshunds is discriminatory, and without any base in logic, or in practice. As other D-people have noted above, the coat in no way affects the dog in any area. If the AKC chooses to ban piebalds, it had better be prepared to defend that position.
I want to save the piebald pattern

Save the Piebalds!!!!!
I have a 10 week old Black and Tan long hair dapple. I would hate that someone would say she is not a Doxie.
The size and shape of a dogs spot makes no difference. They are still doxies.

If we are going to start discriminating against dog hair colors than we better practice on humans first! We are now doing away with all brunettes as of now, how does that sound! Silly right, same thing with the dogs.

I LOST PUDGE 08/24/07 AND I KNOW I CAN NOT REPLACE HIM. I AM GOING TO GET ANOTHER PUPPY AND THE ONLY COLOR THAT I WOULD GET IS A PIEBALD. THE THING I LIKE ABOUT PIEBALDS IS THAT THERE IS NOT TWO OF THEM ALIKE. I WOULD TAKE PUDGE TO MUT-FEST AND I WOULD GET MORE COMMENTS ABOUT HIM THAN ANY OTHER DACHSHUND THAT WAS AT THE EVENT. PLEASE!!! SAVE THE PIEBALDS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please do not discriminate against Piebalds! I'm not a breeder, but an avid Dachshund lover, and have two gorgeous Pies. Most people are not aware of the Piebald pattern in Dachshunds, and I have had so many comments and compliments on my two babies. Perhaps if Pies are allowed to be shown, more people will appreciate this gorgeous pattern.

My name is Diane Starkey, and although I do not have a Piebald Dachshund I did have a number of Dachshunds as a child, and have a friend who owns and dearly loves one now. I understand how she feels, because I own two pugs, one fawn and another the very rare silver, which is not recognized by AKC and should be.
Please include my signature in the petition.
Thank you
