Hi, Piebalds should definitely be in the Dachshund
standard. They are the most unique color pattern. It saddens me that a breed
is at the mercy of the whim of a club or association.

Dear AKC, Please save the Piebald Dachshund and
allow it to be part of the Dachshund Standard. They are adorable breeds.
Other breeds certainly come in a variety of colors.

Save the Pies. Why discriminate against a known and accepted color. If you do not think a person can tell the difference between a pie and a dapple/double dapple require pictures of the animal being registered for clarification and possible correction. |

Yes, definitely, I will sign the petition to save the Piebalds. They are adorable. I grew up owning dachshunds and I love them, although now I have my second Westie. I think Piebalds are just as much a Dachshund as a solid-colour one. I think anti-discrimination applies just as much to these cuties as it does to the human race. |

I don't have a piebald but think they are
beautiful. This is our dapple, Lucy. Will they try to eliminate the dapples
next? Where will it stop?

I am the owner of one male piebald, Kody. He came from Shadowridge Farms. Why should AKC tell us our piebald's should be dismissed from the ring. This is America, stand up and fight for our rights. |

Because they should not be judged by the color of

I believe that the piebald is a very viable part
of the dachshund breed. This pattern is predominant in many hound breeds and
it helps people to realize that although long and short, this wonderful
breed has a great sense of smell, loyalty to its family, friendly, loveable
and affectionate like the hound breeds that it is a part of. It is very easy
to forget that the dachshund is a hound and the piebald pattern helps to
remind people of this wonderful breed's ancestry.
