I'm adding my name to the petition.....all dachshunds are dachshunds, no matter the color, and while I don't have a piebald in my brood I am just as in love with them as my four. So PLEASE, don't exclude any dachshund just because it has a bit of white (or a lot of white LOL) on it's lovely little long body......

I love piebalds. I call my little girl Milla Pie although she is Milla Jolie.
It is not fair to discriminate against color.
Otherwise we are no better now than we were to humans back then.

This is Pookie, my beautiful red wire piebald. They definitely should be allowed to compete in the show ring.......their color or pattern has nothing to do with conformation or health issues. They are beautiful and will always be my favorites!

They are so cute and I would love to see them accepted into the standard ASAP, then I will have to have one!

They are healthy beautiful animals. They should not be forced out because of their hair color. I do not see a separate standard for reds and black and tan just for coat type. If you must discriminate against them make them a separate type like the wire and the smooth.

This is outrageous! We have six piebalds and would never go back to just having solids. We take or dogs to parades and training seminars and just out. Every time we do we are asked where we got them people love them and have to have them. I have had people say that they didn't like the PLAIN COLORS but now that they new about these they want one! Why would AKC listen to them don't we count. We are the owners and it should be our born right to be able to show them or have them if we want to. THIS IS THE USA LAND OF THE FREE. Right.
I am honored to sign this partition and any more help I can give just let me know.
SAVE OUR PIEBALDS!!!!!!!!!!!!

I own a red solid dachshund with a few black hairs and think it is wrong to discriminate a pattern for any reason. We don't discriminate against people why do it to dogs? They are little people.

Here in Golden Valley AZ, we LOVE the piebald all that chrome and none of the worries like double dapples. I have my first piebald stud and he gave me a litter of 5 out of 6 puppies showing piebald. Let's stick with how the breed started, it had piebald! Piebald makes them easier to spot out in the field for the handlers!

Come on let me stay in the standard!

I have the most adorable piebald doxie ever!!
Her name is Lexie and she is my pride and joy.
I think the piebald should be saved because they are so unique in their own special way. I cant tell you how many people stop and and want to pet her or hold her. Lets keep them going and continue to make everyone happy =)

If the AKC and their breeder judges would allow piebalds they could just be more specific on the amount of white that could be on the piebald that could be shown. Example 2/3 OR 3/4 color over the body, or symmetrical, like Spock. They have these types of specifics for other patterned breeds, why not Pies !
I am in the process of purchasing my first piebald and what caught my eye and put cupids arrow thru my heart. This little cream piebald boy's name is Spock.

Let's not give up
!

We love our doxies!!!! Elvis and Priscilla are the best dogs in the world. Priscilla is a piebald and is so smart and loving just like her older brother Elvis. Without Piebald's the world would be a sad place to live. All doxies deserve love!!!!

There is nothing more I love than to see the beautiful and unique patterns and colors on a piebald dachshund. I didn’t know they even existed until I adopted one from a local shelter. Exclusion on the basis of such a thing is foolish!

Piebalds are beautiful and diverse in color, it would serve NO betterment to the breed to remove them from the breed standard. I am a very proud owner of a beautiful pie female.

Piebald dachshunds are no different than the regular standard dachshunds! They are lovable dogs regardless of their color! I am a proud owner of a dapple piebald standard dachshund and I wouldn't have her look any other way!

In the history of the dachshund breed it clearly states that the piebald pattern was intentionally bred into the dachshund breed so that when the dog was hunting badgers, it's owner would be able to easily identify it and there wouldn't be the issue of accidentally shooting the dog. Being a piebald was simply an adjustment in the breed that made it stronger and this should be recognized as a strength and not a flaw in the eyes of the judges. I currently don't have any piebalds, but this controversy on whether or not a piebald should be able to be in the show ring is not going to thwart my intentions of having one someday in the hopefully near future.

There is No Other Dog Like a Dachshund!!!

We own four doxies in four color and coat varieties, none being piebald. But we do believe that piebalds are justified in the keeping of there designation as they are their own wonderful variation within the doxie breed!
Keep on keepin on piebalds!!!!!!!!
Thanks, Rob and Sheri Bransfield
