We are a piebald family & everywhere we go people stop me and ask what my dogs are. They always end the conversation with “ I had no idea dachshunds came colored like that...I LOVE it” These dogs are dachshunds through and through! They deserve all the attention we can give them, they are great “spokesmen” for the breed.

Piebalds are beautiful dogs that should be accepted.
I don't know what I would do without mine.

I live in Portugal and own a rough haired Dachshund.
I have searched for such a long time to find someone who breeds piebalds here, to no avail. I love the pattern and would love to own one but not even in Spain do they seem to advertise... so I do support you & if you do know anyone who breeds them closer to me - please do email me back with details!
Thanks & good luck

We love our piebalds!
The color pattern of the piebald should not exclude them from the breed standard.

I have a piebald dachshund, she is definitely piebald and looks and acts like a dachshund. I have owned registered red and black and tan doxies before,
but I think the piebald is especially beautiful.
This coat color is one of nature's most beautiful,
appearing in other prized animals such as horses.

The reason I want to save the piebalds is because they are unique and loving!
The pictures are of my puppy Chip.
He is all white with little brown spots and blue eyes.

Attached is a picture of "Summer" who is just shy of 2 yoa.
I have had dachshunds in my family for 50 years and "Summer" is the first Piebald.
There is absolutely no reason Pieblads should not get equal billing.
100% dachshund through and through !!

It's simple really: the piebald is just a color pattern.
It doesn't affect the breed in any way.
One of the things that truly makes the Dachshunds so unique is their color patterns.
You rarely know what you are going to get and that's half the fun!
....Just a dachshund lover!

I have had dachshunds for 35 years.

I think piebalds should be saved because they are like all other dogs, they just have different markings which I thinks makes them more beautiful.

What are we in the 18th century judging by color?
We just recently lost our dappled Dachshund.
We have since purchased a miniature Piebald that is a wonderful dog.
I cannot believe the AKC is living in medieval times.
C’mon AKC get a grip of reality.
See attached picture of Roxy.

In our 20 years of marriage we have had 7 dachshunds!!
Right now we have 3 beautiful Doxie girls:
1 Chocolate Dapple, a Red and finally our precious Piebald Miracle!
I've wanted one ever since I saw my first Piebald in New York City several years ago. Miracle has the fun, stubborn personality most Doxies have, but with a special "spunk" and "sweetness" only the Pie's seem to possess!!
We have absolutely crazy about her and don't think her pattern should be excluded.

Eliminating the PIEBALD pattern from the breed standard is not going to save the breed. Reputable breeders will!
PIEBALDS ROCK!

I am an owner of a very handsome long haired boy.
I don't have a Piebald but love any color or coat dachshund.
They are all special and should not leave any color out.
