I believe the piebald is the most beautiful of the breed.
They have become so popular and I believe they should be saved.
They are just as much dachshunds as the red, black, dabble etc.
I would not trade my beautiful little girl for anything.
I believe she should be recognized as a true dachshund.
She is a true doxie to me!!

Piebald dachshunds can be the most beautiful and unique of any of the dachshund patterns. Please keep this color pattern in the AKC standards!
Save the piebalds!

We love piebald dachshunds and just because they have different coloring doesn't mean they are a different breed!

Odie is very proud of being a piebald dachshund.
We don't think it is fair that his kind is being excluded.
Please save the piebalds

I love my piebald. I don't think there is any reason they should not allow them to be a part of the Dachshund Standard. They are no different than any other Dachshund except for their unique color.

The Piebald pattern is much-beloved by many and is our favorite color pattern! It would be a travesty to exclude these beautiful doxies from the show ring. It is truly not fair to the many wonderful piebalds with impeccable conformation.

Piebalds rock! These guys are true doxies! There have always been piebald dachshunds, and it’s just plain discriminatory to exclude them from the breed standard! Here is a pic of my new babies, Buddy the Piebald and his sister, Mimi, nine-week-old, long-haired minis. How cute are they??

Why Should the Piebalds Be Saved?:
The beautiful pattern is caused by a recessive gene in both parents; therefore, to deny it would be like saying a red headed child is not a recognized human. Furthermore, the pattern is not lethal to the dog like the dapple pattern can be. The double dapple is sometimes deadly or causes other complications such as blindness when the pattern gene from the sire and dam compete for pattern placement.
Let Piebald back into AKC.

lease save the Piebald pattern. Our family adores the Piebalds. We are planning to get one for our 3 girls this year for Christmas. I grew up with owning a red, and there's nothing more precious. Save the Piebald!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’ve owned dachshunds my whole life—three red smooth and one black-and-tan longhair. The black-and-tan longhair dachshund, “Elvis” (pictured), is 13 years old and is still hanging in there. About a year after the death of his companion, who was a beautiful red smooth female, I bought a cream-and-white piebald longhair male puppy (“Pacer,” also pictured as both a puppy and an adult). I’ve always thought that our black-and-tan longhair was the coolest dog around, but let me tell you something: the cream-and-white piebald longhair is a total CROWD PLEASER. Every place I go with him, people stop to ask what kind of dog he is and to say how cute he is. And that hasn’t changed now that he is no longer a pup. This dog attracts so much attention that we’re actually afraid someone may try to steal him out of our yard!!! I’m not kidding. It’s plain and simple—people find the piebald pattern to be extremely attractive. Save the Piebalds!!

I am surprised they are not considered.
Piebalds are so striking and beautiful.
How can they be ignored??

I think the piebald color is beautiful.
You don't see a lot of people with piebalds
and that is why I got my little guy. He is unique to me.

I am glad to see that some judges are defying the DCA's effort to
disqualify the piebald by awarding championship points in 2007 and 2008.
The piebald is definitely part of the historical development of the breed
and deserves to continue to be recognized. How is a pie different from a
cream or chocolate or Isabella which are also nonstandard colors? Are these
colorations next on the DCA's arbitrary redefinition of the breed? Judges,
please look at the history of the breed and refuse to be intimidated by the
bias of some DCA members.

Please add me to the list of piebald owners challenging the DCA.

If God hadn't meant for there to be Piebald Dachshunds, He wouldn't have made so many diverse colors in the Piebald group of Dachshunds. Why would anyone object to their competing? What a disgrace in every sense of the word and action. I've never had one as they tend to be hard to find in my area and outside of my budget, but I think they, as are ALL Dachshunds, BEAUTIFUL !

I've adopted a purebred mini doxie named Pepper Jack last fall and I thought he was a dapple until recently when the former owners gave me the papers. He is apparently called a black piebald. I had never heard of that in a dog coloring, only in horses. I have two red "tweenie" dachshunds, and they love him to death as we all do. He is definitely a doxie in attitude, exuberance and is very affectionate as well. I want to breed him in the fall when he turns 2 yrs old. I am shocked that piebald is not a recognized color in the judging ring, but I know people everywhere we go think he is beautiful. So far I haven't seen another that is colored exactly like he is.

Here's my niece holding him                     Pepper Jack, Maverick,
not long after we adopted him.                              and his mom Jewel

Notice the brown eyebrows, muzzle, feet, along with the spots and piebald.

I DON'T HAVE A PIEBALD BUT MY PUPPY'S SISTER IS A PIEBALD AND SHE IS SO PRETTY. THE PATTERNS ARE SO PRETTY AND THEY ARE STILL DACHSHUNDS. DOUBLE DAPPLES HAVEN'T BEEN DISMISSED YET SO WHY SHOULD THIS NORMAL DACHSHUND BE DISMISSED BECAUSE OF ITS COLORING?!!!?? I JUST FOUND OUT ABOUT THIS TODAY AND I AM SHOCKED. I BELIEVE THAT A DACHSHUND IS A DACHSHUND IS A DACHSHUND NO MATTER WHAT COLOR, PATTERN, OR SIZE. I HOPE THIS HELPS!!!!

The people who decided to exclude the piebald are just horrible people. Just because a dachshund is piebald does not make it any less a dachshund. Are these people blind. Count the Piebalds!!!!!!!!!

When the Mom is a dachshund and the Dad is a dachshund and the brothers and sisters are dachshunds then this too is a dachshund.

I think the piebald is the cutest! Save the piebald.

I have a one year old piebald and a seven year old black and tan (both smooth) and they are my two babies. I take them to the dog park and everyone knows Lucy is a dachshund, but they asked me about Georgia.. I tell then she's a piebald and a pure bred. She is one hundred percent dachshund in her demeanor and personality. This is not a question if the piebald is a pure dachshund but when the powers that be add them to the list. This is nothing new, many types of dogs have waited a long time to be included in dog shows. I say the sooner the better. Sometimes change is a good thing

Why Piebalds should be saved: Why not?
What does coat color have to do with the job in which the dachshund was originally bred to do? Why change something that has been acceptable for years and years prior? My dachshunds sire was a piebald and he's perfect!

I think the piebalds are one of the most beautiful out of all of the Dachshunds colors. I do not own a piebald, but believe this is a color that should be preserved. My dog daisy has piebald that runs in her father's line. Piebald is rare enough that it should be kept as part of the AKC.
