The beauty of the Piebald is completely obvious, and a treasure to the dachshund family. We are fortunate to have so many colorations. All one has to do is look, the grace and charm is obvious and these little wonders are a miracle deserving credit. We look forward to the day we can add another pie to our family of two doxies.

Although I own a black and tan Doxie, I find the piebald to be a fascinating and quite acceptable variation of the breed. I am appalled that the AKC would consider banning them!

I have had solid, dapples, double dapples and Piebald and breed only AKC Piebald dachshunds now. Here are two pictures of many Piebald's I have raised.
THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL!
If there were any 'concern' over pattern, I would think it would be the lethal dapple gene which can cause blindness and deafness in some double dapples. The Piebald pattern is gorgeous and has no such issues! 'Piebald' the 'designer' dogs of dachshunds! Who on Earth got the 'anti' Piebald thing going anyway? Piebald dachshunds have already WON in the AKC ring and have been show stoppers for many people who have never seen one before! This should be a no-brainer.

I currently do not own a piebald dachshunds, but some day I definitely want to! I love the pattern, it is one of my absolute favorites. It would be a shame if this was removed by AKC. I just LOVE the piebalds!!!!

I personally think that a piebald dachshund is the most unique and different of all the patterns. I personally wouldn't trade my piebald babies for nothing and wouldn't want to see the pattern eliminated. They show just as pretty in the show ring as any other color and pattern.

The original dachshunds were spotted and mostly white!
(The longhair is Hattie and Briar is the wire)

My feeling on the dachshund as a whole is that dachshund was breed for a scent hound just as all the other hunting dogs. The Color should be unimportant to a breed that was breed for hunting. I also have coonhounds which come in may colors no matter what color they hunt by how well they were breed as a scent hounds. I plead with everyone, please make the dachshund what it was breed for a hunting dog not a breed for color. Dachshund are suppose to be breed for the noise and there feet are heavy like a hound for hunting. They were breed smaller then the beagle so that that could flush the game out of the whole. Remember this a hound. Thank for your Time.

It is totally preposterous that AKC would even consider excluding Pie's from there club! Besides it is just a coat pattern and it does not affect any of the other standards that are set.

Dachshunds are beautiful but they come in different patterns like piebalds. Do
not tell us that one dachshund pattern is better than another. This is
America!!!
Let everyones' voice be heard ...save the best , save the piebald.
Thanks, Sandy - Proud owner of many loving piebald dachshunds.

I believe that the pies ought to stay a AKC recognized color and pattern you do not have to like them but their are many who do. I do not think it is right to take something away that some may not like. It is basically racist like people used to be with blacks and white people. The people colors are no different than a color and pattern of a dachshund.
I BELIEVE IN THE DACHSHUND RIGHTS TO HELP KEEP THE COLOR.

The name of our kennel is "Polka Dachs". We absolutely love the piebalds! They have their own special personalities not to mention beauty! Every person that sees our piebalds falls in love with them and discover their special loving personalities. There is NO difference in performance or structure in the piebalds than any other pattern. They are natural hunters and my dogs know commands because they learned it on their own. They are naturally smart & skilled! The piebalds are some of the most beautiful dachshunds out there and they are extremely intelligent. Please keep the piebalds! It would be a shame to stop breeding such wonderful dogs. Have they not proven themselves already...over and over again? Save the Pies!

I breed for Temperament, Health, and conformation. Being a Piebald has no impact on Temperament, Health or conformation. Nor does the color of a Dachshund have anything to do with their ability to hunt. Some of my smartest Dachshunds are Piebald’s. I have more requests for Piebald’s than any other color. Piebald’s have just as much right to be shown as any other color or Pattern, and it is absolutely insane to think otherwise.
“PLEASE SAVE THE PIE’S”

We do not breed for pie or own one but there was a very close vote for them and after they have been shown and proved they can be just as nice as other colors We do not see how you can not mark them the correct pattern at least. The Pies have proven they are there whether the Dachshund Club wants them or not. Not to mark them correctly will only make it harder to breed correctly since we look to the pedigrees to help us in our breedings of color and structure.
We breed Standards and miniatures and the color on the pedigree has a lot of influence in what we breed too. please do not make it harder that it already is.

I have three pie smooth, longhair and a wire along with one bk/tn carrying for pie. I find them to be just a loveable, courageous, smart, as any dachshund. Save the pie bald. Let them be heard and allowed in the AKC shows. Beethoven wants to be at the show!!

Proud owner of 3 pies w/7 who carry. Proud breeder in TN that does not find any reason why they should be dismissed from the show ring ! It is a pattern, just like other patterns....this pattern has nothing to do w/the conformation of the breed.

I don't personally breed the piebalds, but I have several breeder friends that do. The one's I have seen were absolutely beautiful. A Dachshund is a Dachshund. They should judge by conformation, etc. Not by color. There are more and more Piebalds becoming champions all the time. They should allow them to continue to show some of these beautiful Piebalds!

How can we base quality and perfection on a color? If the genetics
of this breed create this color then so be it, it does not mean
these piebalds are lesser dogs by any means and should not be
treated as if they are different. Piebald is a pattern just like
dapple, are they going to rid themselves of those great dogs too?
Rid it in all patterns and not just dachshunds, I'd like to see
how that goes. Piebald dachshunds are amazing creatures and
deserve very much their time to shine. The color is not important
look beyond that at quality in the show rings.

We currently have 7 piebald's and many of our other Dachshund's carry for Piebald. The color of the Dachshund should have nothing to do with its conformation or temperament in anyway. Please do not throw them out just because of their color. That should have no impact if you were judging them correctly. Please save the beautiful Piebald's They are my absolute favorite pattern in the Dachshund's and in my opinion the most unique.

I could not dare imagine the AKC do away with this adorable pattern. I
invested in a beautiful choc/tan that is a carrier of pie, and I know
that he will produce beautiful pups. Pie is one of favorites!!!! Please help!

Piebalds are beautiful and should not be banned from being shown.
They add class and whimsy.

We feel the piebald pattern is beautiful and pattern has nothing to do with Conformation in the ring and deserves to be right up there with the rest of the dachshund gang. We own several piebalds and will never stop breeding for them.
