Dapples and double dapples are included in the standard definition of dachshunds. For the reasons that piebalds are excluded from the standard, the same rationale can be applied to dapples and double dapples. How is that this group of dachshunds are permitted to be included in the standard?

My best friend has a piebald and he's the cutest thing ever.
When he walks him he gets stopped constantly and
everyone remarks about his beautiful coat.

I am in total support of the piebalds!
I lost a brindle Doxie and got a piebald to fill in the void and he is precious!
I get the MOST wonderful comments on him and if I ever breed him and get puppies, I already have three of them wonderful homes should they be piebalds.
 YES, KEEP the piebald Doxies!!
Attached is a picture of our little Ace!

I am a Doxie lover, as well as an active breeder. With every litter of pups I have, we always get at least one piebald...and they go quickly! People just love the colors and the patterns of them. My female, Isabelle, is a Red and my male, Yogi Bleu, is a Red & White Double Dapple....and they are my pride and joy!! I will attach a pic of the 2 litters that we have right now...out of a total of 8 pups, there are 4 that are piebalds. Save the Piebalds!!!

Hello. My name is Maria Marta and I live in Brasil.
Here, we almost never have piebald dachshunds.
I have Sophie and she came from the USA.
She is a beautiful and adorable dachshund.
And I think the kennel club should keep this kind of coat.
Not just because they are lovely (they are),
but because they also need to be protected.
Thanks a lot.

Over time, as history has shown, evolution of the breed takes its course. A dachshund is still a dachshund. My Piebald can out hunt and out dig a black and tan any day. She would make a wire-haired seem docile. She has a dogged personality, astute, alert, and vigilant. Boycott the DCA and AKC events and products until they come to their senses, or let's establish our own dog club and raise awareness and educate people about the breed, and not the snobiness of certain 'dog clubs'.

This is our precious piebald Roxi.
They are a beautiful breed and there is no reason why
they should not be able to perform.

I Love Piebalds!
Dachshunds have been in my family for a long time!
So when I moved out, I didn't have one.
So I went and got one!
His name is Chester!
When I saw him I had never seen that color on a dachshund
But I tell you, he's so handsome and I fell in love.
GO PIEBALDS!!!!!!

I want to save the Piebalds,
because how can something so cute and sweet
not be recognized as a dachshund standard.

This is my piebald Oscar.
He is affectionately known as "Weenie".
I thought our world had come far enough that
we wouldn't judge a man or dog by the color of their skin or fur.
Let the piebalds be judged the same as other doxies!!!

I have four Piebalds that are just as wonderful in every way as my solid dachshund. It would be a true disservice to the breed for them to be excluded from AKC. I hope they chose to continue to honor them as a true member of the Dachshund family.
Please add me to your petition!

I have a double dapple chocolate standard with a white star on his chest, named Ozzy. I also have a very mini brindle female named Riley.
She had a litter of 4 last December and I had to keep one of the babies.
Pepper is 10 months old, long haired black and silver dapple.
My daughter has two minis, red smooth boy Boomer and red smooth female Revvie.
We LOVE ALL OF OUR DOXIES.
Piebalds are beautiful and should be allowed to compete.

We are from Germany and there even
are piebalds not allowed in the standard breed of the German teckel club.
But some breeders breed in the American breeding associations
and so there are piebalds in Germany too.
We have got an piebald tan black dapple dachshund for 2 weeks
her name is fly, she is long hair and a real princess.
For us colored dachshunds are the most beautiful and we can not understand that the AKC and the DCA now won't allow these dogs.

Dottie is the first piebald dachshund that I have ever owned but won't be the last. The piebald is a unique and beautiful coloring.
They belong in the standard with the other colorings.

I have been Breeding Piebalds and Dapples for 15 years now,
and I have NEVER had any problems with my pups,
and they should be considered the best in Coloring for a Dachshunds.

I have a new grand-dog who is a darling piebald,
the cutest dachshund in our many years of having them.
Of course these dogs should be allowed to be shown!

This message is to the AKC/DCA to get my point across.
If our dogs were to show us ... Would you put us out of the show ring
because we were 'Black' , or 'White' , or Tan' ?
We are PEOPLE ( NOT a color ).
Just the same as a DACHSHUND is a BREED NOT a COLOR!
*You might accidently start something you don't want*
You may have people 'MARCHING' against you.
Lets not start a Martin Luther King Jr. rebellion over the COLORS of a Breed.

I agree with you .
The piebald is one of the beautiful markings of the breed.
It shouldn't be counted against them.
Here is one of our pups.
Her name is Shasta.
She is out of a red female and black and tan dapple.
She is now six months old,
the picture was taken at 8 weeks and shows how stunning she is.

How boring our lives would be without a little variety! As this is a natural color combination, not a designed trait, it should stand in the AKC standard!

Keep them in!!!!
