Dear Sir or Madam;
I would be disappointed to see the piebald pattern to be disallowed in the ring. I fell in love with the pattern and have acquired two to start campaigning in the show ring for the 2008 season along with my beautiful black female Zoë. The color adds to their charm and appeal to some.

I'm not a Dachshund breeder but I do believe a dog shouldn't be judged by color alone. Please place my vote to save the piebald Dachshund !

I HAVE 2 BEAUTIFUL GRAND DOGS THAT ARE PIEBALD. I THINK IT WOULD BE UNTHINKABLE NOT TO CONSIDER THEM AS DACHSHUNDS. THERE ARE NEW BREEDS OF DOGS BEING INTRODUCED REGULARLY.

I own a miniature Dachshund (picture attached).
I think that the Piebald adds more flavor to the breed. Their color pattern is no different than the brindle, or dapple.

Attached is a picture of Smith & Wesson. We purchased these brothers from Greg at the Southern Shades kennels about 18 months ago. We immediately fell in love with the coloring of these guys. We need to do everything possible to ensure that this pattern is encouraged to flourish. Thanks

I am the proud owner of 2 piebald dachshunds.

I am writing as a sign that I want to save the Piebald pattern of Dachshunds.
This is a unique pattern and people should be able to enjoy and show their Piebalds forever.

I am happily owned by an AKC registered piebald Dachshund. The vet says he is a happy, healthy specimen of the Dachshund breed. It took a long time for the horse registries to end discrimination against parti-colored coats. I do not understand why the DCA & AKC are choosing to take a step BACK towards the Dark Ages by disallowing piebalds in competition & breeding. I DO NOT support this step and vote to “Save the Piebalds!”

With the myriad of colors and coats, why you would want to exclude this one
is beyond us. If you are worried about breed standard then you should have
drawn the line on various colors a long time ago. We've seen some very
handsome piebalds, and our Gus here is a good example of one. He's a champion
to us, both his markings and his personality do credit to his breed.
