What's not to love about the piebalds. They are a dachshund in every way. Color should not matter. DCA is certainly not supporting the breed, how can they call themselves dachshund lovers?

I love the piebalds...they are gorgeous...and very beautiful...we shouldn't judge conformation by the colors. If it is an allowable color in other breeds, why can't it be allowed in dachshunds!! I agree...SAVE THE PIEBALDS!!

First of all our Dachshunds are family members, we love each and everyone and their pattern's, I find has no different's between other dachshund pattern's like black and tan. We have 2 Piebald's which have not as yet shown in any Dachshund Ring but we are still hopeful after hearing about these travesties from AKC, DCA we can't understand the Judges excluding Piebald's from any Dachshund show. We find nothing different about this pattern which does anything to award this action, We are hopeful that all of these remarkable letters will help the Judges reconsider saving the Piebald's as show quality dachshunds.

I currently have 4 young piebald dachshunds ranging in ages from 5 months to 3 years that are like part of our family, I've had a variety of colors of dachshunds in my home since 1982, and do not find the piebald to be any different than any other dachshund. PLEASE DO NOT EXCLUDE THEM FROM THE SHOW RING - THEY ARE DACHSHUNDS TOO.

We have never known such a great dog as our 'Bunkie'. He is most handsome, wonderful personality and we are eager to have his pups.
Please keep our pies in the AKC ring.

Our little Lady Piebald is less than 1 week old, and I'm counting the days till she is able to come home to us. I have waited for over a year to add this beautifully patterned dachshund to our existing family of 5, .... 2 red and 3 black and tan. Variety is the spice of life, right?
I can't believe that any organization, especially those as renowned and respected as the AKC and DCA would be taking a stand and making an issue over, of ALL things, .... COLOR!! Didn't we learn that valuable lesson, against discrimination, many many years ago??? Perhaps, they will argue that 'this' is different because we are talking about dogs, but because dogs are man's best friend, what affects them, affects us, PEOPLE! I find it very offensive to regard a piebald dachshund any differently than any patterned breed.
On the contrary, I would think the AKC and DCA would welcome the diversity and competition as well as the absolute beauty of this outstanding patterned dachshund. The dachshunds certainly have my vote, whereas the AKC and DCA have my added signature on the petition regarding the despicable discrimination of which they are apparently guilty.

I cannot understand the discrimination against the piebald dachshund. Any well bred dachshund should be allowed to compete, no matter what his / her color is. I believe it is time to embrace change!!

I love the piebalds and hope to gain one in the family soon. They are beautiful colors and great all round. I have 8 dachshunds of my own and look forward to a piebald. Please let them be included in DCA.

I don't have a piebald, but I do have a blue and tan little girl. I see no reason to discriminate against the piebald dachshunds. I have never heard of it being bad for their health, etc. I think they are beautiful and should be included!

I am a proud owner of 2 mini dachshunds, no piebalds but I think piebalds should be saved because they are dachshunds!!!! All dachshunds long and short no matter pattern or color should be considered dachshunds!! Its ridiculous to try to alienate a dachshund due to their color or pattern!! What's next, no black/tan dachshunds?? no long haired dachshunds?? not allowing breeding of these beautiful dogs?? If they are healthy and happy dogs, I see NO reason to "get rid" of the piebald pattern!!

As a proud, responsible breeder of high quality bred AKC Mini Dachshunds, I think Dachshunds should not be judged against for showing or carrying the piebald pattern. This is a beautiful pattern and should be respected. Please continue to keep the piebald pattern recognized through AKC. AKC would really lose out on some extremely nice Dachshunds if they were to remove this pattern.

I can not imagine my life with out them.
Please do not get rid of this color pattern.

I don't understand why the AKC would make such a decision, color or pattern has nothing to do with the breeding of quality or conformation of the dachshund breed. They are beautiful dogs. They are dachshunds too! My piebald "Penny" is the first one everyone goes to when they come to my house!
The AKC's decision is wrong!

Please save the piebalds! They have been part of dachshund heritage as long as the breed has existed, there are no known health risks for color-headed pies and excluding them is a severe oversight.
