I don't have a Dachshund yet but we are looking
and I think they are so unique, I owned a cattle dog so
I just love those color patterns.
Wish I could find one in wire coat.
Be responsible breeders and respect all canines..

A dachshund is a dachshund no matter what color it is.

My husband and I rescued our piebald Ginger about 6 months ago.
I have been around dachshunds my entire life but had never seen or heard of a piebald before Ginger! She is one of the most beautiful color combos I have ever seen and have a new passion for this breed because of her!

As far as we are concerned piebalds are
the BEST looking of all dachshunds PERIOD!


 

 

Absolutely the Piebalds should be saved and ACCEPTED as breed standard.
There is nothing that affects the health, quality, performance or beauty of the breed. We are not talking "designer breed" -- which are mutts at high prices;
we are not speaking the "teacup" that I recently saw that made my chest tighten and my stomach hurt thinking of the breed represented that way.
We are speaking of a pattern.
If an English Creme -- the colour of a Cocker Spanial -- is acceptable;
there is ABSOLUTELY no reason that a piebald is not
a beautiful representation of a breed I LOVE, ADORE AND WILL DEFEND!!!

Piebalds are true Doxies and the AKC should recognize them.
I mean really, who can resist this face.

The piebalds to me are the sweetest most gentle lil creatures on earth.
Here at TinyRainbowPaws, that is all we truely "want" to breed.
Another color that should be recognized is Chocolate.
I had one of the first Chocolate dachshunds and he was ckc registered because akc wouldn't even register him back then. I now have his son, ckc as my stud.
Akc needs to get up with the times, in all breeds.
They need to realize that because of selective breeding more and more color mutations are available. Most of my breeder friends are switching to using only ckc
because akc is so difficult to deal with!

AND NO ONE OR NO ANIMAL SHOULD BE JUDGED BY THEIR COLOR.

I have always had dachshunds starting when I was 5 years old.
Now at 46 I just recently purchased my first Piebald Dapple.
He is the most beautiful boy in the world.
His unique coloring and patterns sets him apart from another dog.
Since Piebald was the originating pattern of the dachshund and has since become an elusive, recessive gene I was thrilled to find your site and all the other beautiful Piebald's. Keep up the good work on behalf of my Leopold

I think Piebalds are the cutest!
 We didn't know they existed till our son got one-
his name is Baxter and he is just the best dog!

I want people to recognize piebalds as a AKC registered pattern.
I feel like its wrong to discount the credibility of a dog based on their markings.
I love my Piebald Doc (large one) and Digby (puppy)
I don not need for them to be recognized for me to love them
but for others to know that they exist.
People always say I have never seen one with those markings before.
 

I currently have a gorgeous dachshund black and gold (tan)
and he already has 12 loving years with me.
But I know he does not last forever and so I'm on the searched for a Piebald
because I always thought they were wonderful, and very lovely.

they have a beautiful pattern with all being slightly different,as with people.
How could you think about doing away with this exquisite line?

I just got a piebald as a Christmas present this last year and I LOVE her.
She is just as good if not more fun and loyal as any other dachshund.
Her name is Molly Anne she is now 12 weeks old and is a little pistol!
 

I think we should save the piebalds because they are so adorable!
