My female has had at least one piebald pup in every litter she has had. They are beautiful dogs, and a dachshund in every sense of the word.

We have 2 piebalds and love them both dearly
how could you think of discriminating against such beautiful dogs.

There is no rational reason piebalds should have been excluded from the dachshund standard. With no known health problems and the long history in the breed, piebalds deserve recognition! Thor, my cream stud carries for piebald and I would love to find a pie female sometime for him to sire a litter. Piebalds are beautiful!

Oscar, my Dapple Piebald Dachshund is absolutely beautiful.
He and I have bonded so that we are almost inseparable.
It is hard to go anywhere and leave him.
When he does not like some approaching me, he starts barking with a low growl and then ends up sounding like he is saying my mama.
Everyone gets a kick out of that.
My daughter has a doxy. she is a love, too. She is my granddog.
Adorable. Never having owned a doxy, before (just cockers),
I did not know what I was missing. Love my Doxie!!!!!!!!!

This is Scooter....we love our Piebald so much, he brings us joy everyday.
These beautiful pies definitely should be recognized by the AKC,
I would love to see them winner at Westminster.

There is no reason Not to include the piebald!!
I don’t personally have one-but would LOVE to add one to my household!
We currently have 1 red and black long haired male, one black, tan,
and dapple male, and our newest addition
(my 51st birthday present!) a red and chocolate long hair female.
The dachshund breed is a wonderful, gentle, caring, loveable breed
-NO MATTER WHAT COLOR OR HAIR TYPE!!

KEEP THE PIEBALD!!

I have an adorable little Bl/Tan Long hair piebald who is the love of our family. Her color is one of the many reasons we love her. I can't figure out why they are wanting to do away with the pies. If it is for a genetic reason then the dapples would be on the list. They can produce birth defects when bred together. I'd love to hear more about their reasons.

My wife and I just recently welcomed our piebald puppy Gracie into our home. She is absolutely gorgeous, and we both adore her! I would like to sign this petition. AKC should recognize the piebalds, they are dachshunds just like the others. Some of the ugly hairless breeds get recognized, why not a beautiful piebald. There are so many variations. After all, the AKC recognized the "parti-color" Cocker Spaniel, or ASCOB, so why not the piebald? Thank You!!

Vasco - the cutest piebald from Waterbury, CT.
How can you not include him?

The piebalds are pretty and sweet and are very typical dachshunds,
I see no reason why they shouldn't be included.

Proud owner of two doxies! Piebalds are a unique color of the dachshund family! God made everyone different, dogs included!

I have always loved the piebald pattern and I definitely would hate to see it be eliminated!!! I think that there are many people who love the look of them and I have seen many many piebald's that meet every AKC standard and should be winners in the show ring but are not even looked at or thrown out completely, what a shame. I say keep the darling paint doxies and let them show what great confirmation they can have rather than worrying about them being a piebald and just getting over looked all together!!!

I think Piebalds are the cutest of all colors. There is nothing wrong with the Piebald pattern and they shouldn't be looked down upon. I also think they should be part of the AKC and anything else. Also their color pattern has nothing to do with their abilities. My Piebald Chico is very beautiful and everyone loves him especially his blue eyes. Also he is a very smart dog and can do lots of things.

They are so beautiful and have every other dachshund characteristic - why discriminate against them?

I have five mini dachshunds, and help a friend who raises mini dachshunds in EVERY coat, color and pattern - including piebald. There isn't any single pattern, color or coat that's prettier than another, in my estimation, or that is less attractive than another - and there's absolutely NO such thing as an UGLY DACHSHUND!
I think dappled piebalds are the most spectacular... but any color with white added is like putting whipped cream on a brownie - WOW!
Banning piebalds from competition is like banning red-haired women
from the Miss America contest! It's ludicrous!
Why on earth are these DCA people against piebalds???

IF IT'S NOT A DACHSHUND, IT'S JUST A DOG!

Piebalds should be saved because not letting them participate in shows is like not letting an African American eat at a restaurant. There is no reason why they should be treated differently than the other dachshunds, because of their coat.

I have a strawberry blonde longhair dachshund named piper. She is about 4 months old now. She is not a piebald, but we love them anyway. I have also had a black/tan male dachshund. I attached pictures of both of them.

They are a beautiful dog. There is no difference between them and an oddly colored dapple or brindle. I think it is unjust to judge a book by their cover... They are still ALL dachshund at heart regardless of what color they are.

The reason i think piebalds should be saved. A dog is a dog no matter how it looks. A piebald loves just the same as another pattern or color. As far as I'm told it doesn't have any negative effects on the dog so why not just keep it. It makes for a variety of beautiful dogs. I am the proud owner of one piebald male. I grew up with solid colored doxies and loved them all the same. Even the piebalds had the same doxie attitude.

We love our Baby Eli.
He is a very unique and funny doxie.
Piebalds are just as much dachshund as any other..
their coloring does not take away from the wonderful dog they are.
They should not be excluded from the group.

Why I want to save the PIEBALD PATTERN:
I just love the Piebald pattern and I hope to get a female very soon!!
I have a Red dapple male right now who desperately wants and needs a girl friend!!
I hope to breed the two so that I get two of my most favorite dachshund patterns!!
My grand parents bred many breeds such a the Doberman, Poodle, Chihuahua, and German Shepherd, and hope to put the Dachshund in there too!
I WILL WORK TO SAVE THE PIEBALD!!

I'd never seen or heard of piebald dachshunds before I got my dog
Spaceship, a beautiful dapple piebald mini (if I do say so myself). I
just knew I wanted a dachshund and he was what was available in my
area at the time. Since getting him, I've totally fallen in love with
him and his quirky markings and see no reason why piebalds should be
excluded from the show ring. They may be an unusual color, but they
are all dachshund! And who knows, maybe if we can get the word out
about piebalds, people will stop asking me my dog is a beagle mix!
