I do not own a piebald dachshund, but I do plan to
one day.... the piebald dachshund is a very beautiful dog, and very unique.

I personally do not believe that discrimination in any form is acceptable and will always fight it, at any effort I can. As a new breeder to the dachshunds world I think it is ridiculous to try to throw out the piebalds. |

I think it is ridiculous that anyone would try to
take them out of a show ring due to their color. They are beautiful and
every bit as much a dachshund as any other color. I have 3 dachshunds, Belle
Belle who is my Piebald, Beans who is a Cinnamon and Bailey who is a Dapple.
I urge you to not take their color out as a dachshund, she is every bit the
dachshund as any other color.

I don't have a Piebald but I do have other Dachshunds and am a lover of all of them. My friend has a Piebald and she is just beautiful. The AKC should leave them in the standard and leave them alone! Thanks. |

Piebald is a beautiful variation of the dachshund
and should be included.

My friend has a Piebald colored Doxie and we LOVE
her! She should be appreciated just as much as the "other" colored Doxie's.

Piebalds are beautiful, sweet loving dachshund
dogs and should not be excluded by the AKC just because they are considered
by some to be not worthy.

Being the owner of Sieg and Ziggy, two lovable
piebalds, I definitely vote to save the piebald. I have several doxies and
love them all. When my piebalds are out in public everyone wants to meet
them.

I don't own a piebald but I think they should be saved because I think every animal deserves a chance. Also , I love all dogs and Piebalds are especially adorable. And the pattern is cute! |

This is Lillie Mae. She is our gorgeous 1 year old
piebald miniature dachshund. A dachshund is a dachshund no matter what color
or pattern it is! The breed's abilities and the breed's coloring are two
DIFFERENT things and do not affect each other! We believe that the piebald
pattern should be considered a bonus because it's such a beautiful,
eye-catching pattern.

I used to breed & show Australian Shepherds before
they were even recognized by the AKC. I was introduced to piebalds 2 years
ago when my Jack Russell was bitten by a coral snake. I found an ad in the
local newspaper and went to look at the puppies. Both the parents were on
site (mother - cream w/ tan patches / father - dapple gray) and there
disposition was great. There were 6 puppies to pick from. I chose one and
left a deposit to pick him up in 2 weeks. After 6 months, I felt that he
needed to have a buddy, so I called the lady up and she was having another
litter and would call me when they arrived. I went and picked my 2nd puppy
and returned in 2 weeks to bring her home. I don't know what life would be
without Romeo (black/tan piebald) & Rosalyn (blue/tan piebald). I think it
is truly a loss that these dogs cannot be recognized as they should be.

is absurd - I feel proud and honored to have one.

Yes indeed they should be allowed to compete, to
those who think not, would you hide your child in the closet if he/she
looked different? Would they not be allowed to compete in activities with
other children. I bet they have the same loyal, loving personalities as the
reds, black and tan, dapples, ect.

There are many piebald dachshunds with their AKC championships.…WHY belittle their hard-earned titles because of their pattern? It is conformation and temperament that count. Pies are healthy and beautiful, and sought after! Please allow us to continue enjoying them and registering them. |

WOW!!! To get rid of a certain pattern after
having it be a big part of dachshund history is like throwing your own child
out the window just because their hair didn't turn our like you had dreamed
since you were young, or that they are shorter or taller than yourself.

I don't have a piebald but I think they are beautiful! I don't think the pattern is any different than a dapple (are they next?) which I do have. If I had the chance to have a piebald I would in a second. Save the piebalds! |

I truly believe the piebalds are the most striking
pattern! I have found many also have the best conformation. The "most
common" colors seem to have been so over bred. It is no different than the
"party" cocker spaniels-which are no more than "piebald". I love the
piebalds... if AKC fears us in the show ring....maybe we need to form a new
showing standard, and start doing our own shows....NO REDS, NO
DAPPLES....just piebalds!
