To help this effort I will add my comments.
The piebald dachshund could be the purest of the Breed. Our family has been breeding dachshunds since 1956. I remember the day when the standard was to not Register any dog that had white.
Since dachshunds are originated from hounds is not far Reach to assume that not hounds were black and tan. Also I am sure that dapples were not allowed either.
The natural breed characteristics are being suppressed By some who do not care for the pattern.
Based on what we sell 1/3 of my customers have a Preference for piebalds.
Thanks

Please leave the wonderful little pies as they are. They are beautiful . We love them and also lots of dachshund lovers love them. I have request for them all the time. I don't believe in mixing with the dapple. I am a breeder of pure Pies..... I also love the pie's. In fact I have one from Steve Bell...This is my beautiful little long coat pie. She is 8 months old. She is a shaded cream pie...I have lots of folks calling me for pie's.. Please don't bother the pie breed. I agree that dapples should not be mixed with the pies. Please leave the pies as a pure breed...

I think that it is ridiculous to eliminate a dog because of his/her color.

And are no different than any other pure breed!

The piebald should be a part of the Dachshund standard. The color does not make them any less a Dachshund. Many people, including myself, find the piebald absolutely gorgeous. The color of a person makes them no less a person.
SAVE THE PIEBALD!!!!

I think it is ridiculous to take the piebalds out of the standard when they have already been in the ring and championed. They are as dachshund as any other dachshund and shouldn't be punished because of their color. Good luck in your quest to keep them in, they deserve to be treated like the wonderful dachshunds they are :)

I don't have a piebald but they are a doxie correct? The patterns are exceptional and give the breed of these loving dogs a different aspect. why mess with breed standards? Leave them alone and include the piebalds. No more love than a doxie can give, maybe the AKC will acknowledge these in the shows, as of yet EVERY year the 'LITTLE GUYS" GET SLIGHTED!
This wonderful breed should HAVE more recognition than they are getting.

I am the proud owner of a 12 week-old miniature piebald dachshund named Roxy "the foxy doxie" Stephens. I am requesting that the AKC please continue the registration of the piebald pattern.
Respectfully,

Please save the piebald pattern. No one should be judged by hair color or skin. It's one of those things that makes them unique.

I have fallen in love with these breed. Before purchasing, I did much research on the breed. I was amazed at the different color combination there were and how beautiful they all are. My top two choices were piebald and dapple. We currently have a dapple, only because he was the first available. I am committed to getting a second one and it will be a piebald. Please save this color.
Thank you, April Agnew
