I think the Piebald is a beautiful breed. I see no reason to discriminate against the Piebald and begin excluding them from shows.

It just plain silly! Why would they want to do that??? Did they even give a reason?
Are they grouping them with Dapples??? I don't understand....
My darling Piebald deserves an answer!

We (Templeton and I) want to encourage AKC judges to follow the written standard which, and I just reviewed it, does not exclude piebalds. A dachshund is a dachshund is a dachshund.....color does not affect conformation or ability to do their job.

Isabelle is our first piebald. We had never heard or seen a piebald before we got ours. She is such a gentle doxie with markings that we feel are unique and beautiful. We agree there is no reason for the Piebalds to be excluded. Great Idea a petition.

While I am a Japanese Chin lover, my best friend LOVES dachshunds! For her, the belief that no color or pattern should be barred from standards or showings and the fact that long haired piebalds are my favorite doxies, I wish to have my name added to your petition. If this were a beauty pageant for people, there would be discrimination charges for racism!!! It's sick and wrong to say that a creature of any kind is not good enough because of their ethnicity, color or pattern!!!

This is my best friend's Piebald Cocomo. He's so sweet and loveable. I actually consider him a friend. He's always super excited to see me and always greats me warmly. Although I am not a dog owner, I am looking forward to owning a Piebald in the future. This breed should be held with high regard due to their unique markings and jovial, sometimes mischievious, nature. Cocomo is such a scamp!

I think the piebalds are beautiful and should not be left out! It is unfair!

I am the proud owner of Boomer - Boomer is even worse than a Piebald - *GASP* he is a Long Haired Red Dappled Piebald. He has an incredible pedigree, a wonderful disposition and is 100% dachshund. He is not a designer dog, he is one of God's creatures and came naturally through careful breeding. I am not planning on showing or breeding BooDog, but it is a shame that were I to chose that path that he would very well be excluded. I also find it negligent for Dappled Piebald to not be a recognized pattern. He is both and if there are inherent health issues that can come from breeding two dapples, wouldn't it be sensible and logical to include both in his registration.

Save the Piebald and let's continue education about these wonderful representatives of the breed!

With all our love, my dachshund, Anya, and I would like to sign the petition for the piebalds. We have a dachshund group here in New Orleans that includes dachshunds of all color and pattern type and we were shocked to hear about the inequality our cute piebald friends are receiving! Please add our names to the petition and give our love to all of the piebalds out there!

FLAT OUT DISCRIMINATION!!!!! WHO GAVE THEM THE RIGHT TO DISREGARD A BEAUTIFUL PATTERN ANY MORE THAN THE BLACK AND TAN, THE DAPPLE, THE RED, ETC. SHAME ON THEM.

We don't have a piebald, however, we have a very cute mini black and tan long-haired. I never wanted a dachshund until we went to look at his litter and he came up to me and showered me and my husband with kisses!!! Now, I want to get another dachshund, but with 2 little kids it is hard. I know in the future though that I will own another one and I think piebalds are just way too cute!! They most definitely should be in competition!!! I'm not sure but if labradoodles are allowed in competition (now or in the future), then why not piebalds. It is only a dachshund, a labradoodle is 2 dogs in one.
Sorry I don't have a good picture of my dachshund!!

I own two mini dachshunds. Even though they are not piebalds, I completely support this petition. Discrimination in any form, no matter against humans or canines, should be illegal! We fight against discrimination towards all colors of people, and should do the same for our most faithful friends. Shame on the AKC and the DCA for even considering this!

When making the decision to recently get a new puppy, I searched out piebalds specifically because they are so beautiful! They deserve to be in the show ring!

We own two wonderful piebald miniature dachshunds, Stretch and Spike McWeiner. They will never be competitors in the show ring, but we always look for pies on TV when we see a dog show on. It seems arbitrary, unnecessary, and frankly a little pompous to exclude this pattern from competition. What gives? Pies are terrific, beautiful dogs!

This is our Hopper! He is a smooth coat chocolate pie.
