This is Toby, my loving son! He turned 2 years old May 25, 2009. He is the most precious dog I have ever had! Toby caught my eyes and my heart by his eyes number 1 with this picture on Petfinder and number 2 his markings. They are absolutely beautiful and should be recognized. They are a mini canvas!

Please add my name to the petition. C'mon AKC, you recognize dapples, brindles, long hairs, short hairs, wire hairs, standards and minis ............ why not piebalds?

I want to sign the petition to save the piebalds...I have a longhair red & black dapple mini who we adore. I would love to get a female piebald. I have come to love the breed and it would be a shame to not have this color.
Have a good day :) Carrie

I believe the piebald has just as much right to flaunt it's beauty as any other color!
Being piebald doesn't take away from any other part of the breed standard, piebald is just a color pattern!
Please save the piebald!
Piebalds are beautiful dogs!

I would definitely like to sign your petition. I believe that Piebald dachshunds should not be discriminated against. We have had the pleasure and honor to be able to add one to our family. Rome was born on June 25, 2009 and he will be joining our dachshund family when he is eight weeks old. We have been anxiously awaiting his birth and are absolutely thrilled that he is ours. So here is a picture of our two week old baby. His breeder is awesome and we have received pictures since the day he was born.
If Pies are eliminated, it puts our dapples at risk too. And I for one have a dapple and a black and tan also. My doxies are the most important things in our life. The colorings adds to their originality.

In the past year several months I have become so interested in Dachshunds. I know several people who own Dachshund’s and I’ve watched them and their dogs together. It has inspired me to do research by reading books and looking at different websites to learn about them as much as I can. I have even become interested in becoming an owner myself!!! I have fallen in love with the Dachshund breed! One thing I definitely love about this breed is not only their temperament and loving behavior but their many different colors, coat types, and the patterns of the Doxies. They make gorgeous and amazing coats when you mix the different types. Piebald is definitely no exception in this!!
Please do not take Piebald out of the standard!!!
They are such an incredible addition to the beautiful breed Dachshund.

We've had several dachsies in our family, and there is no reason the Piebald should be excluded from breed standards!

The piebald dachshund is one of the most gorgeous dachshund colors.
It would be such a shame to loose them.
Just look at them, there no different from the other dachshunds
except for their color. We love them.

The Piebalds must be saved, there absolutely stunning,
and they have the beauty and the white without the defects
of the double dapple which I own.
Daisey is a double dapple with many problems including deafness,
so lets put an end to the double dapple and promote the piebald!

OUR PIEBALD: Dr. Ross E. " Little Blue Eyes " Geller Nardi

I Have to say That out of all Dachshunds markings and coloring,
we love our Izzy Piebalds.
I think that it's really UN-American to not let our great babies
be apart of their heritage.
How are they to dictate what is acceptable and beautiful in the dog world!!!
I Vote YES with a Capital Y!!!
POWER TO THE PIEBALDS!!!!

I think the Piebalds are very cute and unique.
I agree the AKC should recognize them as well.

All of my puppies have had no health issues,
no eye or ear issues either!
My beautiful pies shouldn't be ignored!

We own a beautiful piebald Dachshund.
Her name is Macie and she just turned one.
I think it’s sad that the AKC and DCA will not recognize piebalds.
A dachshund is a dachshund whether it is red, black, white, or spotted.
We will always own piebalds!

I am not a breeder. I recently rescued a piebald. He is absolutely
wonderful. I receive so many wonderful comments regarding his coloring.
Whether or not I had one, I would agree that they should not be excluded.

Please don't lock us out of the fun of dachshund competitions.
Connect the dots and let us be a part of the big howling parties of dachshunds
everywhere! We love to hunt, bark and cuddle with the rest of our
dachshund family. Love, Daisy Doodles -- the Piebald

I'm disappointed in the Dachshund Club of America's decision to disqualify the piebald pattern from conformation championship eligibility. Can a good hound be a bad color? Many, many other hound breeds allow for a white dog with splashes or color. Why should the dachshund be different?
Color is only a small part of the conformation standard.

We own 4 red doxies and just recently got a red piebald.
She is as loving as our others and a great joy to our family.
A doxie is a doxie regardless of color. Where does discrimination draw the line? The banning of piebalds in shows and by the AKC must be a decision of people who are not true animal lovers...especially of the doxie breed and of the piebald.
Our doxies are family and we would do anything for our "children".

My Piebald Doxie's name is Sinatra.
He is a fine specimen of the breed.
He is all that a dachshund should be - just look at him.
Does it matter that he has white in his fur?
Does that detract from him in any way?
Anyone who answers 'yes' to these rhetorical questions, is foolish.
The variation in his coloring is beautiful, and should be recognized.
And the better question is, why isn't it?

I am a PROUD owner of a piebald
and don't feel he's any less of a doxie than the standard black and tan or red.
Our piebald is absolutely beautiful and ALL dachshund ~!!!!
His markings have NOT made him any less in the dachshund breed~!!!!
Save the piebalds please ~!!!!!

These beautiful dogs should be counted in AKC. Why not??
Color has nothing to do with how smart they are, it just makes them beautiful.
My family has a Piebald and he is smart as he can be
and also one good looking little man.
I can't believe somebody came up with this anyway. That is crazy.
Just leave the Piebalds alone and let them be to do what other colors do.
I think there is more to worry about than color.
Thanks and good luck little babies.
